What's My Motivation?

"The Priests did not ask, 'Where is the Lord?' Those who deal with the law did not know me." (Jeremiah 2:8)

Some priests in lsrael merely went through the motions. While they may have been sincere in taking care of God's holy places, many were lighting incense, offering sacrifices, and even teaching the law of God without truly knowing Him.

Religious activity is not evidence of genuine spirituality. And God does not consider service or worship without knowledge to be true honor. God has made Himself known through Scripture and through Jesus.

Knowing Him is what leads to authentic service and real acts of love. Knowing Him is what counts. That understanding should be the heart behind our actions.
