Chill Pill replied to Dario Western's discussion 'How many Australians are on this site?'Anime Conventions
After years of doing this, I'm going to do some knowledge on the community and telling you what's going on in Colorado. For those who want to come to the state and see the conventions! Guess what, just do it! Walk in the door, don't have to have a cosplay, just show in street clothes and enjoy the convention.
Make a contribution to a community and also an industry that is the biggest influence in animation history. So please come and see what you can see.

Convention in Review
Nan Desu Kan 2012
This year, it has been the best, it has none of the drama that it once carried and also seems to have found a niche in the community that we know and love. This convention is considered the most active in Colorado and been around since 1997 and it looks like it will stick around for awhile.
So in closing, it is considered one of the best conventions in Denver and has been a stable for Colorado for years.

Animeland Wasabi
This convention started in 2008, as small as it is, it was well recieved by a lot of fans who can't afford to actually attend Nan Desu Kan. This convention is usually in March and has a wide audience of fans. It has some events that are strictly different from Nan Desu Kan (NDK) and has some of the finest collection of venders just as the older convention does.
Flaws, as a new convention it is still getting its feet wet.

Mile Hi Con
Colorado's smallest and yet mightiest convention, this con has been around for a lot longer and also best sci-fi, fantasy and more convention. If you are into anime, yeah, this convention has that and its smaller in selection.
NDK found its roots at this convention has grown since then. Mile Hi Con has some of the nicest staff and most interesting of rooms. The Dealer's room is more like a flea market of old sci-fi and fantasy books. There are Dungeons and Dragons room and also a lot of different things to do for the whole family.

StarFest
Another old classic, and it isn't just for trekkies, my friends. This convention is amazing, the most interesting and partying to ever see. Yes, the Nerds can party and they make no difference if you are not into it or you're just there to meet people. Great guest stars from your favorite sci-fi or fantasy show, or even movies. This convention spans almost 2 hotels and will steadily grown if you're not careful.
Denver Comic Con
Yes, we have a comic con my friends and it is amazing from what I have heard, it isn't big yet, but it will soon take over the Denver Convention center. Next year, we are getting Stan Lee. I don't have much on it, but I'm going to see it next year.
