Bolt Shut Down for Adult Content
Hi All,
So you may have noticed Bolt was shut down for nearly 16 hours today. This was a decision made by Ning as a direct result of adult content being posted to the site and a violation of their terms. I make a sweep a couple times a day to delete what I find but there are two problems with this: A. The network is growing pretty quickly so it is no longer sufficient for me to do this on my own... To solve this I will be enlisting volunteer moderators (thank you to those who have already volunteered). B. Ning's definition of Adult content is less liberal than I think we have come to expect on Bolt...
Its not the end of the world, I just want to ask everyone for a favor moving forward, if you think your pictures or videos qualify as adult content, please don't post them to Bolt. If we miss something, the site will come down again because of your post and may not come back. And if you spot adult content and you are not a moderator, please send a note to me where you see it and also let the member know its not appropriate. This way we can try and catch things before we get the plug pulled again. The alternative to this is that I have to approve all content and new members before they post. I don't think this is a good alternative!

It would be much better if Bolt could buy its own domain and set its own rules. But that's not always plausible, as I'm well aware. Too bad.

I was almost having a nervous breakdown for it being shut down again :( I will most definatly send a note if I do see anyone posting "adult Content" I would sure hate to see Bolt be gone again.
