Ban on Loud Commercials

With the conversion to digital cable there has been a noticeable difference in the sound level of commercials. Commercials are even louder now than they were in past years! The loudness of the commercials has caused such a buzz, that today the senate passed a bill that will require TV commercials to be broadcast no louder than the shows they are interrupting.

Senator Charles Schumer says, "TV viewers should be able to watch their favorite programs without fear of losing their hearing when the show goes to a commercial."

Unfortunately, it will take two years before the law can go into effect. :(
