Members of Bolt3, we have some sad news – Bolt3 is coming to an end. After supporting this community since 2009 we are now nearly 5 years down the road. Despite having good intentions, our limited resources have stymied all efforts to revive the original spirit of Bolt.com and we are now at an end.

In these last 5 years we’ve gone through a lot with Bolt3, including two separate moderator civil wars (where we’ve had to come in to fix the mass deletions of our moderator communities…

Yes, I started Boltagain - and I was one of the investors who acquired the original Bolt.com assets out of bankruptcy in early 2008. I just wanted to publicly thank our Mods. The site is way better since they began their work and I have to tell everyone, it is no small task.... Especially for what is a very small team. They are even figuring out how to manage the site better behind the scenes and add featured content. It's really cool what they are doing and we all owe them thanks.

So you may have noticed Bolt was shut down for nearly 16 hours today. This was a decision made by Ning as a direct result of adult content being posted to the site and a violation of their terms. I make a sweep a couple times a day to delete what I find but there are two problems with this: A. The network is growing pretty quickly so it is no longer sufficient for me to do this on my own... Great thanks to a number of Bolt folks who found that I could actually setup the forums section sort of like it used to be on Bolt. Specifically thanks to StormyNite who actually sent me a link to the instructions! So I figured out what to do and then went through the old Bolt docs and found one about the old forums and uploaded them to this site. Enjoy!
