Get orginal Bolt back!

this site now is load of crap makes mi sick man i hate this site so much now does not make any sense @ all i used 2 love d ole one wayyyyyyyyyyy better i was a member since 1999 met most of friends on here didnt even realize they had change it been almost 3yrs since i have been on this site.. my screen name used 2 b toya1198

I became a member in 2000 my screen name was csblueangel83. I miss the tagbooks! They were the best. I could seriously spend hours answering peoples random questions on there sites! Will it ever bee like that again! All my badges gone!

i DEFINITELY miss the old Bolt, i think i joined the site in '98, or somewhere around then... but, i didn't like how over-commercialized it was becoming, toward the end of its run. The badges were fun, but having 3,000 different badges for whatever promotion they could find was a bit over the top, IMO. Hopefully this site comes back to life and can even remotely resemble what it once was!! RIP (for now), Bolt :(

I like the old Bolt. It had more to offer than what it has right now.

I joined Bolt in like '99 or '00, and this setup looks nothing like it did then. I really liked everything about it back then. This reminds me of MySpace or Facebook, and I think social networking sites need to be different from each other and have their own specialties, so to speak. Bolt was definitely like that years ago. I miss it.

I was a member of the original bolt website before it shut down. I also was a member of bolt2. Both websites were far diffrent from this. I liked bolt for badges and bolt2 for the videos.

I was a member of the first Bolt and Bolt 2, as well as a member of Bolt when it was Administrated by a convicted child rapist (the last time Bolt was active) that went back to prison courtesy of my cousin reporting him. The problem that caused it to keep being shut down was web hosting fees (or lack thereof), and no one wanting to donate funds to the administrator(s). Bolt is now part of the Ning network, and the Ning network is free of charge, and free to grow however large the Administrator(s) choose to allow it to grow to. Ning is far more customizable on a personal level than Bolt ever was outside of the Ning network. I've seen Ning networks grow into the millions and still be free of charge and Ad free.

If we want the original Bolt back, we need to find a steady, and reliable way, for the Administrator(s) to receive a steady supply of money to keep the web hosting fees paid and up-to-date.

Otherwise, this is the best and most intelligent choice to run the site.

I remember the original Bolt had in-site IMing. Bolt 2 and Bolt 3 did not. In-site IMing is included in all Ning networks, and localized to the specific network, allowing public and private chats.

You can upload videos to your Bolt profiles now, as well as pictures, but music requires music players, although the Administrator(s) have the ability to add the option for users to have a music player option available for their profile, where you can upload your own music into your own music player, and add songs to your player from another user's music player at will, and the site's services are still free.

My cousin ran his own Ning network, and I had a profile on his network before he took it down, so I know the features available through Ning as an Administrator.

If the current Administrator(s) would like back-up help, I'd be happy to help in any way I can, as I can.

My cousin's anti-pedophile network was in the thousands before they went incognito again, and I helped him Administrate the network...that's how I know the features available, and the fact that everything is completely free of charge.

Implementing network-wide changes does not disrupt the network, and there's no need to take the network down to implement upgrades in available features. We did it on-the-fly constantly.

If there ever is a need to take the network down to implement upgrades, the changes can be done in a few minutes. It affects all profiles at one time. None of that bullshit "down-for-a-day" servicing that pisses people off royally. lol

please bring the original bolt back, i have been a member since it began and tried to log on it was in limbo and when i was able to recieve the bolt as i thought it was to be, i am disapointed in the the now bolt trying to reinvent what was already new and inventive.

I just wish I could see my old profile! The memories would be great. I used to LOVE Bolt.

I totally agree. I was actually JUST complaining about this new bolt and wishing the old was still in tact when I saw the link for this group. I despise this new bolt, and b/c of it, I have lost all my old friends on here. Ugh.

I remember being part of the Original Bolt in high school over 9 years ago. It was a lot of fun and very entertaining. After it went down I tried using my old log in, its says its registered but with wrong password. Asked for it to be sent, and says my email isn't registered. So sad.

Original Bolt is never coming back. I met a lot of really awesome people on old Bolt. This new bolt is boring and lame. My favorite was the option where you could ask a question and people could answer. I forgot exactly what it was called now its been so long! There will never be a site like original bolt ever again. Ahhhh Old Bolt. It's funny I got an e-mail in my inbox alerting me to activity in this thread. It seems so long ago. I'm 31 years old now. I was 21 when I joined Old Bolt. Hung in there until the bitter end, when they told everyone to get a webcam and join Bolt2. I remember the Kiwibox troll wars, the American Idol boards, the pr0n Awakening. I came across some Bolt stickers when cleaning out my nightstand about a month ago. I finally gave up the ghost and threw them away.

I was a member of one of the Dollz groups, where you'd play with those goofy drag and drop doll characters and dress them up. Every month there was a pageant and a theme. I won a dollz contest once. You got a custom made gif badge you could display on your whiteboard. My sister and I had a group called HTML 4 Dummies, where we taught coding noobs how to make their Bolt group awesomesauce with cursor trailers and custom animated backgrounds and falling snowflakes and Midis for any song imaginable. My whiteboard midi was actually a Madonna song LOL.

I remember the sense of accomplishment when your badges took up so much space they had to scroll across the top of your profile page. I remember abusing people's tagbooks to has out debates on controversial subjects, I hated noobs who trolled thinking they'd get the Hellraiser badge and to this day my sister has no clue how she earned the Peacekeeper one.

I got a free Zip Zap, Ralph Lauren Cool perfume (that stuff smelled fantastic!), Crest White Strips, a Logitech webcam (my favorite freebie) and Pepsi Blue. I rolled with the "popular" Bolt crew. The people in the know like Jandie (what was her name on Bolt? She dated one of the admins via the internet, IIRC) and Julie and Kevin. Funny how I remember their real names, but not their Bolt names.

I remember when I got the cool things in the mail like pepsi blue. And I did meet a friend from old bolt this was when the movie 28 days later was in theaters I know because that was our first date lol....bring old bolt back seemed much happier than!
