Horror Movies, the Best of

I don't think I need to elaborate too much with this subject. It's that time of the season and lots of us are in the mood for horror. So give us some titles and reasons for watching them.

I'm breaking out a list I had from way back in the day as an old Horror reg. Kinda sad how many of these have been remade since I first put this list together.

Here's ones I like for whatever reason, in no particular order

    The Shining
    Psycho
    Alien
    Aliens
    Jaws
    Nosferatu (1922)
    The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney)
    Frankenstein (Boris Karloff)
    The Mummy (Karloff)
    The Thing (Carpenter's)
    The Omen series
    The Exorcist
    Near Dark
    Halloween
Night of the Living Dead (original B+W)
Dawn of the Dead (+ Remake)
    Day of the Dead
    Ringu (The Ring also)
    Battle Royale
    The Changeling
    Evil Dead 2
    Army of Darkness
    Dead Alive
    Bad Taste
    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
    Terminator 1
    Terminator 2
    The Fog
    In the Mouth of Madness
    Amityville Horror
    Creepshow
    Creepshow 2
    The Dead Zone
The Fly (the Cronenberg one, though I do like the orginal, if anything for Vincent Price)
    Sleepy Hollow (Burton)
    Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney)
    Vampire Hunter D
    Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
The House on Haunted Hill (Vincent Price, NOT the newer one)
    House of Wax (Vincent Price)
    The Tingler
House of Usher (Really just about any of those Vincet Price/Edgar Allen Poe movies =) )
    Dracula (Bela Lugosi)
    Horror of Dracula (Christopher Lee)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (Christopher Lee)
    Bram Stoker's Dracula
    Interview with the Vampire
Plan 9 from Outer Space =P
    The Blair Witch Project
    Pumpkinhead
    Hellraiser
    Hellraiser 2
The Silence of the Lambs (people consider it horror for some reason)
    Jacob's Ladder
    Pet Sematary
    The Serpent and the Rainbow
    Diabolique (1955)
    28 Days Later

There's probably dozens more I can't think of ATM. I could stand to add some new ones. I left out most of the Schlocky-guilty pleasure ones, but some I couldn't help leaving in, they're just classic. =)
