Has the american film industry lost it's creativity?

From a second re-launch of Spiderman, to a remake of Total Recall, and Jonah Hill's latest you can't help but wonder where has all the creativity gone? Is it even about the film itself anymore or just another extended commercial?

The creativity went to LA to make it in The Business and was cruelly seduced by sleazy producers with cheap cocaine and greasy hair. After a couple of commercial shoots that failed to lead to anything, a deepening coke addiction and a spiraling debt the Creativity was eventually forced into shooting dime-bin pornos to fuel its addiction and keep the loan sharks off its back. Can you hear that insidious slurping noise? That's the sound of creativity out back of a 7/11 blowing the guys who decided that Ben Afleck should be the next Batman.

For the most part, yep. They now depend on over the top "special effects" and micro clips/cuts spliced together for their "action". Plots suck.
