The EnvironMENTALists were right.

I'd heard a number of years ago that those plastic rings that encase a six pack of canned beer is bad for the environment; that if you leave them lying around on the beach birds can get all caught up in them. It turns out to be true. Today, I bought a six pack of canned Budweiser, finished it off and without thinking, left the plastic rings on the counter in my kitchen. I then went upstairs to take a leak and when I returned to the kitchen to check on the progress of the boisenberry pie I was baking, there were four seagulls trapped in the plastic rings on the counter....an entire flock. And I'm not talking about the birds. I'm talking about the band from the 80's. I think I should consider starting a petition to get beer companies to get rid of this harmful packaging process.
