I would like to thank the ad agencies that take the time to hunt down good, yet obscure music to use for their commercial jingles. thanks to this practice, I have discovered new sounds and bands that have added much needed variety to my humble audio collection.
One of the new artists i recently discovered through an add for the show "Justified" was the artist Lissie, and her song "Little Lovin". And what a find. Lissie is a talented young singer/songwriter, somewhere between california guitar pop, and country. The result is neo hippie-ish melody (in a good sense) with lyrics that wouldnt be out of place in a Waffle House jukebox in middle Georgia (also in a good sense).
Glorious!

that's one way to look at it. On the other hand, they often get much needed exposure from it. If they are a new band, that could be the difference between obscurity and a successful career. Its a shame when good bands or singers fade while trash like The BIEBER continue to get ridiculous amounts of press coverage. That just makes me want to puke blood.
That said, i also bet that they gain alot more listeners than they lose through being on an ad, at least if they are talented.
