All right, when your facing down a mob of brain-hungry undead what weapon(s) do you choose to do battle with and why?

Personally I go with the shaolin spade, or "monk spade" because of its reach and versatility. The 12 gauge shotgun is a close second, but I think you should include at least one lightweight edged weapon. Shotguns work great for removing the head/destroying the brain, but it's hard to carry a lot of ammunition for it and when it's out of ammo or time to reload, it is nothing more than a relatively ineffective club.

the problem you would run into with fighting dead people is they are dead.the reason weapons work is because of blood lose or destuction of organs.if you are fighting a live body and you shoot it in the heart you destroy the heart causing blood flow to the rest of the body to stop. this causes death.if you shoot a dead body in the heart guess what.hes dead it aint affecting shit.same way with any weapon.the only way to stop their attack is by either destroying the brain or severing the head.this is where accuracy counts. blade or bullet your aim must count.so my choice of weapons are the ones im best with. two springfield .45s , a 12 gauge shotgun , and a search and rescue brush axe.

All right, I would have to say the Katana and Glock .357.  Either can be used one-handed by those who've studied the weapons and they both have 'stopping power', in this case I mean that the blow is likely to knock the undead back or down even when the attack isn't fatal (decapitation or head shot), and there's no denying the lethality of either choice.  Thanx to all those who reply.
