Shade of Jade

Cruel and overcast,
Cold, and colored black
Against us, all the odds are stacked
Never can we turn the time back
It flies by, days slip away
Alone below the dark skies' gray
In eyes once bright the light fades
Now wide open, seeing in shade of jade

Another sinister embrace, another sinister embrace
Another slap right in the face, another day
Another waste, another fake, another change of pace
Another vision is haunted with these images of past mistakes
Another life slipping away, another mindset thinking in jaden shade

A great shadow cast
Now I am staring the beast in the eye
Many a question asked
Every answer yet unrealized
Pale and jaden this abyss
Enveloping, suffocating grip
Jaded, emotionally sick
Just my spirit in eclipse

Your poetry is pure perfection - I mean it - this is one of the BEST poems I have read here. Looks like we've got a lot of talented poets here. Would love to read more of your work! I really like how you repeated the stanza

Twice and the second time used it to finish, wrapped it up perfectly - another poem in which I can relate, it's like you read my journal and summed it all up for me. Especially the line "Now I am staring the beast in the eye."
