well if you require the shamballa reiki all the manuels i have featured also a very good book is the THE IDIOTS GUIDE TO REIKI i find this is one of the best books on the market love and light

i've heard the name a few times and never followed up with much personal study into the subject, but i always figured if something comes up time and time again, then there is probably a reason. Any links or books you'd recommend to start with for someone wanting to learn more about it?

yes recline it is a universal power controled by the mind known as tachion energy but a master can open the centrs so you can recieve it it is a massive heling tool i am so pleased you are interested in this science

I'm interested in learning more about Reiki. Is it based in Chi, or a completely different discipline?

I have enjoyed my experiences with Reiki (Usui trained, Master, 1996). It is gentle and still powerful. Although many practitioners disagree with using it with other modalities - to me, I figure it all comes from the same Source so I don't think working Reiki with other ways of Being-in-Energy matters much. Reiki works well as a supplement or complement to other methods, as well as, certainly standing on its own as a healing method.

I think the most important aspect in this healing, as well as in any other healing mode, is to be receptive and active at the same time - to be present, to be open, and to be at peace with oneself. :)
