Have you ever noticed that toasted bread makes a sandwich/hamburger/everything else taste more delicious? Why is that? What's happening?
Also what do you like to put on your morning toast? butter? fried eggs? bananas? bacon? sausage? gravy?
ps, why isnt there a food subforum?
cue david and random comment about americans and their fucking food.

i usually put peanut butter on my toast. that, or cinnamon& sugar.
RIGHT?
See I don't eat sandwiches coz they're disgusting and wrong, but mostly because raw bread is grody. I only eat cooked sandwiches like grilled cheese and burgers. Raw bread should be outlawed.
And butter and cinn. all day for toast. Erry day.
One of the weirdest things I found over in Europe was that toast is ONLY for bread that's getting old. They never toast fresh bread.. it's like.. unheard of... And I ALWAYS wanted toast. =p
Uhh as weird as it may sound, I've grown fonder of heating my bread in the microwave oven so it feels soft and 'melts' in my mouth with my first sip of coffee.
When I was younger, I used to toast my bread, melt butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar. :)

Permalink Reply by Chad Wood on February 28, 2012 at 10:00pm I believe it has something to do with the natural carbohydrates caramelizing on the surface when high heat is applied over a certain length of time.
