Ok, So I am a teenage mother. I have a ten month old son. And I get looked down on EVERY DAY for what I "am" or what I have done. Why is it sooo wrong? I was on birth control when I got pregnant. I wasn't being irresponsible and having unprotected sex with a bunch of people. I was having sex with ONE person. I was on BIRTH CONTROL. And it STILL happened. But we are NOT on welfare, we are not taking from our parents, and we are doing just fine. But still, there are sooo many people that look down on me, that tell me that what I did was wrong. How? Why? I don't understand how it is any different that what half of America is doing, they just didn't get pregnant from it. I did. I just want to know why people judge me and people like me so hard.

Girl. I'm not in your shoes, but I can understand the looks must suck. My advice, if you are bold, is to make a t-shirt that says something like your first post. Maybe shorten it to something like "I was on Birth Control!" Wear it when you go out anywhere with your baby. Maybe even make your baby one that says something like "I won the war on birth control!" Try to turn your frusteration into laughter. PPl pay 20$ for a jumper that says "I should have been a blow job" (true story, saw it in the store) so "won the war on Birth control" isn't that bad. Let me know if you do it. And keep smilin for that baby:) P.S have u done any reading on stuff like how important the first 5 years are, and stuff like that. Aperently babys can swim when they are born. Babys are trippy. You should google the crap outta babys, and don't worry about wha the prudy mcprudertons think.
I like you. =]
It just makes me mad.. I mean, just 10 seconds ago I had an arguement with my teacher about how pregnancy is bad, and that mad me MAD! I mean, thats... UGHHHHH! not acceptable.
people love to knock others down, makes them feel better about themselves. whats going on in your life is YOUR LIFE, nobody elses. murder is "wrong", rape is "wrong", stealing is "wrong". I cant say your wrong or right based on a paragraph, but like it or not society is the way it is. you and your man are now in a situation were you have to grow up fast. stay in school and work hard, most importantly enjoy life and the gifts you have aquired.
It's wrong because it proves you have been irresponsible with your sexual health despite your good attitude to teenage sex.
Now get out of society and never come back!
Lol, kid, get over yourself.
Really? You get looked down upon?
That's strange because where I'm from, almost half of my graduating class has babies now, and everyone is always acting so proud. And they ARE taking from there parents, and most of them ARE sluts because I know for a fact that most of these girls got preggo from one night stands. Yet, everyone acts so happy for them.

I'm not saying it's wrong.
Good for you for being on your own and stuff.
But I don't like teen pregnancy in general.
You gave the baby a chance and you're not abusing him-GOOD FOR YOU!
Most teens who keep their babies end up keeping them in day care all day, which is why I think most people look down on teen pregnancy. Old fashioned people expect every person to wait until their financially responsible to have children so that the mother can stay home with the kids.
Other teen parents I've known NEVER grow up. They go out all the time, and leave the kids with sitters all the time. Those types waste all their money on their drinking and drugs(on themselves) and end up fighting over money, which the kids usually hear.
Either way it's not an ideal life, and that's why people look down on it. I don't really think it's personal and you should just try to shrug it off. It's just their opinion.
I don't know you but you seem to be doing a good job as a mother(because you still sound happy instead of miserable). You're finishing school and making the most out of something that other people aren't strong enough for. Focus on the positive outcome- your son!
If it becomes too much of a burden you should eat your young
Some teenage parents make better and more loving parents then those that are older. And if thats how you are, i commend you.
It'll get easier as you get older. My wife had her daughter at 16. We're in our young 30's now with a teenager running around the house. It's great that A) she's old enough to take care of herself if we're out and B) she's a great baby sitter/role model for our little one. It's funny, parents will come to the door dropping off their kids to spend the night, when my wife or I answer the door we're asked "are (my daughter's name) parent's home?" lol
im only 17 and about to have a baby boy...its not anything to be ashamed about things happen i was careful too. jesus does things for a reason maybe you couldnt have kids when your olde?r..thats why he gave you him so young, babies are a blessing. people are going to talk about teenagers having babies so young thats high school they willl grow up one day just ignore them nothing but kids. alot of woman have kids you just happened to have him earlier then some. congrats on your baby boy! ps. really about 30% of the people who talk bad about teenage pregnancy there just jelous. proven fact.
