One would think that both sides could agree that by reducing the number of abortions, contraception and sex-ed are universally good...I suspect abortion is the thin-edge of the wedge. Today it'll be abortion, tomorrow it'll be contraception, the day after that STI vaccines and research until all women are barefoot and pregnant and nobody thinks sex is fun anymore.

Permalink Reply by iSeeDumbPeople on May 3, 2011 at 11:19am It is practically the same debate as whether euthanasia should be legal. (I know most of you uneducated folks are gonna look up what that means...)
I don't think taking a life is ethical, but in the long run it is the mother's decision what she wants to do and having said that, I think it is a woman's right to be given that choice and noone should take that away - just like noone can take away your right to vote, or to speak up in court, or speak out about issues that concern you.
Does she want to take care of this baby - perhaps she was raped, or perhaps the father left her? Is she ready to be a single mom? Can she afford it? All these questions will impact the baby's life if the mother chooses to keep it.
The other thing is the body goes through a lot of changes during pregnancy, sometimes abortion can fuck that up to the point that you can't have kids again and any woman considering abortion should be aware of that and thoroughly discuss it with her doctor.
