they should require drug tests for welfare and othe rgovernment aid

i am not against drugs, but i think that if you get aid, then that money should not be used for dope, i mean if you want to get high you should earn it

Apart from the laws regarding purchasing, owning, and using hard drugs, it seems that a great many drug users are casual users holding down a steady job. It's difficult to find figures on this, as the easiest way of counting junkies is in prison, but i saw a study a few years back suggesting that something like 75% of heroin users where "casual" weekend users. There seems to be a great deal of misinformation and propaganda regarding the harder drugs. During the 1900s upper-class society ladies used heroin. It doesn't make you crazy, it doesn't make you dangerous, and while considerably addictive, it is less so than most of us have been led to believe. People that smoke a lot of weed, for example, typically find heroin *boring*...they're used to and enjoy an experience in which their consciousness becomes a random swirling kaleidoscope of giggles. Heroin just turns down the volume of your central nervous system. One of the most interesting things about it is how harmless it is to a human body. Most of the degradation you see in a junkies physiology is from not eating, needle diseases, crime, or other factors associated with the life of a hardcore junkie, not from the drug itself. I see no reason to believe that some proportion of heroin users are able to reasonably manage their encounters with addictive substances the same way most of us do with alcohol or marijuana, while, at the same time, another proportion of people are not, and the drug destroys their lives, the same way alcohol and marijuana will if given the chance.
indeed, i know drug users who work their asses off every fucking day to pay their bills and support their habits, and i am not talking about potheads, i am talking heroin and meth heads, who dont get nothing from no one, and still manage to do their thang, and i dont care if they do, if that is what they want to do then by all fucking means do it
I agree! Very true, and often wonder many times why they haven't made this happen yet?
hmmm i kinda agree... it pisses me off knowing that if and alcoholic goes to sign on here that if they disclose that they have this addiction , they get extra money per week to pay for it ..... so thats my money paying for their habit ... think the reason i got so pissed off with it was because when i was 18 and i had to sign on for a month just because i was clean and what not i got a pittance and the answer was because i was under 21 my parents had to help support me.

(btw do realise that this is a bout drug use but that really got my goat)
Just because you're poor doesn't mean you are entitled to my money nor the government's. There shouldn't be a welfare office but an employment office. In a nation of 300 million, you cannot seriously tell me with a straight face that there isn't a job for you.

There is always a job for you. The problem with most "poor people" is that they refuse to do jobs which they feel are below them.
i dont know why ... but i really dislike you
It is because you enjoy being a victim. Individuals can get addicted to their victimhood because no one wants to fight a "victim." So you seek entitlement through whatever you see yourself a victim of; sexism, drug addiction, poverty, unemployment and whatever other silly reasons you want to list.

Then someone comes along and offers freedom to you. Not freedom from responsibility but free to be in charge of your own destiny. To live life as you see fit. You hate that.
no no ... i dont think thats it at all

i find it odd how you classed me as a victim. you dont know me.

btw... im not unemployed, im not in poverty, i dont have a drug addiction... and as far as i am aware i havent been a victim to sexism either ....

what i think it comes down to, after reading some of your other post's , is that you appear to be a complete and utter cuntoid with a lack of respect for other people and the only opinion you value is your own.
And again, I never said you were yet you identify with "unemployed, poverty and drug addiction." I'll leave it at that, Lilly.

Are you familiar with Aesop's tale of the Dog and the Wolf?
"There shouldn't be a welfare office but an employment office. In a nation of 300 million, you cannot seriously tell me with a straight face that there isn't a job for you."

Economists have determined that 0% unemployment is disastrous for a competitive-capitalist economy. It stifles growth, and the system is based on the premise of the possibility of unlimited growth. In this system, the optimum unemployment figure is 5%. It keeps things moving. A lot of policy is actively created with the goal of maintaining this figure. Economists are constantly tweaking the variables that control the market to try and keep the unemployment as close to this value as possible.
So.
Some unemployment is good.
The Powers try to rig the game to create a little unemployment.
Therefore; if the system creates unemployment for the system's advantage, the system is obligated to care for the unemployed.

Also, since you seem to be advocating *total* abolition of the welfare system, which is an extreme position, what are you suggesting the disabled do? The mentally ill? Single parents? Elderly folk without pensions? Entire towns where everyone works for a single auto-plant or mine which has suddenly closed down and relocated to china? The all-unemployed-people-are-simply-lazy meme is cheap, boring, and intellectually lazy.
Where do you get off talking about people "using your money" to pay for their habits? You're not in any position to cry foul when the taxpayer had to pay for your room and board while in jail for drug abuse.
I really hope they put you to hard work.
hahaha this is classic, but at least i turned my ass in and paid my debt to society, and believe me the drug charge didnt add a single day to the time htat i did, because i had other charges that ate that time up like nothing to it, and i dont give a fuck, but the point is a mother fucker should be able to use whatever drug he chooses, today i can piss clean as you....probably cleaner with all the psychomumbojumbo your probably on, besides the point, the point isnt that people shouldnt use drugs, the point is that you shouldnt seek my money to feed your habit, and it is my money, as much as it is anyones money, i am a tax paying citizen of this country, adn the government is sposed to work to make life better, not pave the way to the dopemans house
