Can anybody explain to me the logic behind the fact that abortion is okay via freedom of choice, yet non-violent people are jailed for choosing to partake of the all-natural buds of a plant?

or....

Why we keep spending billions of tax dollars on the "war on drugs" even though it has done nothing but fail? The only success of this so-called "war" is that it has made violent criminals and war-lords wealthy and powerful...........

How about the fact that legalization would not only save the aforementioned billions in tax dollars, but it would also generate billions more in tax dollars?

It would greatly benefit our farmers, as well as the environment, as marijauna is an easily renewable natural resource, with a countless number of uses which includes being a source of fuel. Any number of products created from trees can be created from hemp.......................

The answer to "all of the above" is simple: Both the Republican and Democratic party have been corrupted by the almighty corporate dollar. Outlawing marijauna limits cheap competition across every major industry from oil to pharmacuticals.
It's sickening. Every 4-8 years Americans vote for "change" by electing the "other" party to power in the name of "change". But nothing will ever change for the better until we kick all the bastards out.

This is why I always vote for Libertarians and independents 1st, other third parties second, and if there is only a Republican and Democrat on the ballot, I refuse to vote.

To those of you that made it this far thanks for reading my little rant whether you agree or disagree.......................

You obviously didn't read my post. The farmers would plant the seeds themselves if cultivating. I was merely explaining to you that people don't HAVE to plant seeds for them to grow. It's called nature, genius.

Sure growing crops requires work, but it is relatively easy for the farmers that know what they're doing. You obviously have no clue as to the definition of "renewable natural resource".

And news flash for you: yes, cannabis IS a natural resource. It's a PLANT that is found all over the world. Compare it to oil and other fossil fuels; you can't just plant some seeds and renew those resources.

You can grow the shit repeatedly in a number of environments. It's ridiculous that we make E83 out of food crops like corn when we could be making it out of cannabis.
im just going to respond to the real issues here....Lol

About as silly as the poster who claims something is such and never bothers to explain why. Marijuana is not a natural resource. It is not renewable. It is not natural in the USA. If you knew anything about growing the plant you’d know it needs sustainable humidity and photoperiods that do not exist in the USA.

haha wow. where have you been? i guess all of those times i literally threw seeds in the yard (i've done this in multiple states BTW)and created seedlings, i was just imagining things. Again, this plants nickname is weed for a good reason. It grows like one, and yes it does do that here in US. But according to you this isn't possible. at least that's what you implied. whether or not that said plant hits a skyrocketing THC count is the really the question in any said growing method. i guess that early native americans were heavily in to the overseas import/export business and we just failed to learn this.

So how do we exactly make money by filling the prisons? Perhaps I missed the point but each and every prisoner has to be taken care of by the US taxpayer.

Well let me explain to you how it works. you don't make money, the state does. Indeed the taxpayers are funding. However each states policies on how much they rake in are different. The state does collect a set dollar amount for each day that every prisoner is incarcerated. thus putting money in the bank and heftier prison sentences. it just sucks that you, me, and every other person must fund this very concept and even do the time if you get caught breaking their silly law.
Native aMERICANS AND mEXICANS. Living on the reservation and getting busted only gets u a couple months in jail. We get let off the hook especially if your native or indian. Im native american and I think is fucking stupid how easily we are being taken care of. wE need to be punished as bad as everyone else and this goes for child abusers and drug addicts.........etc.
that is neither nor there. i think you clearly missed my point.
Drug addiction should be treated as the health issue that it is, and NOT as a criminal one.

Jail should be reserved for violent offenders and theives.
well agreed.
Nice dancing there but the issue was marijuana being a natural resource which it clearly isn’t…but your surrender is accepted.
Well I have seen summer squash seedlings grow underwater in a marine tank. I have seen seedlings of all kinds of plants grow in some very bizarre and inhospitable environments but that doesn’t mean the plant will thrive let alone survive. Weed is a pretty subjective term…it definitely doesn’t grow like one. Now water hyacinth grows like a weed.

i guess we are dancing partners considering the threads topic boils down to whether you agree or disagree with marijuana use and why we are in marijuana prohibition, not growing methods or where it is indigenous to. Lol. I find this comical (AS IF THIS WERE REALLY THAT VALID OF AN ARGUMENT), than we could all justify anything that isn't indigenous to any specific eco system to be illegal, well "becuase it just doesn't belong". which would be/is just plain silly logic. Especially if you've ever considered the theory of "pangea". (more dancing i guess) I think we are really getting way off topic here anyway. In your earlier statements you simply implied that this plant could not naturally sustain life anywhere in our country ..every outdoor farmer who had their "outdoor" plants confiscated in 2006 in the state of california alone im pretty sure would highly disagree with you. this bar graph illustrates quite nicely. yes, farmers use techniques that are widely known to increase the potency. everyone knows that the "best" weed comes from indoor gardening due to having the ability to manipulate light through the use of metal halide/ high pressure sodium bulbs, amongst various other techniques. i'm pretty sure that the "indoor gardening" concept holds true for most plants as the farmer is controlling the weather conditions and not mother nature. however, again. growing methods aren't the issue. the question remains, why are we in marijuana prohibition in the US? so yes, lets stop dancing and answer that question...

Must have since cannabis is indigenous to Central and South Asia.

which came first? the chicken or the egg? there is really no way that you or i could supply empirical data on this specific issue...and if you can, let us see it. i'd love to.

So who is exactly coming out ahead of this? The federal government isn't, nor the state and neither are we. All the money gets funneled into keeping more people in prison.

every bit of those statements are way beyond debatable. if i could pinpoint that specific person or bank account and prove it, than im pretty sure i wouldnt be around to talk about it. ;)

i'm still going to say the state and the feds.
