I know guys that would cut your throat without a second thought, but they're great partners, husbands, lovers, fathers and all that soppy crap.

This is more of a third party's perspective than the woman who is dating.

It isn't that women date "bad boys" but it is guys who think women date men which they personally consider to be bad. Hence, it is why you often see men bemoan, "Ooooh, why do women always date assholes?" or, "Nice guys always finish last!"
