I understand that this isn't big news or relevant to some of you but to those who care to know. Reports from Washington, Time and the Associated press have stated that a living member of the United States military has been nominated and is currently under review for the Medal of Honor. The award would be for the soldier's actions in Afghanistan that resulted in the saving of over a dozen of his fellow brothers in arms.
The Medal of Honor, which is the highest US military honor for bravery has not been awarded to a living recipient since the Vietnam War and has only been awarded six times posthumously during the past nine years of combat in Afghanistan and Iraq.
If this award goes through it will be a watershed moment for the current generation of young Americans in uniform. Support the troops.
