I always respond to everthing, unless I'm in a hurry and it seems boring anyways. It doesn't have to be a positive response but that depends on who and why and what.
Two things I find majorly annoying, stupid and lame are the following:

1)People using the word 'dog' as a negative term. Dogs are some of the most beatuiful, wonderful beings living on this planet.

2)Girls that have this "eww don't hit on me, like ewww, ewww , ewww, I'm a little bitch that thinks she's special princess"-attitude. And then most of the time they take their time gettiong dressed and styled and painted so people will find them good looking. Asking for attention to get a chance to act as if one doesn't want it... LOL, how lame.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It gives me a boost of confidence when a guy whistles at me. I just smile and keep walking.
