Is there really a god?!

Ok so im not really religious. i mean i used to be, i guess it was pushed on me as a kid. i never really wanted to sit alone as a little 6yr old in a big church with my head down, while the paster talked to me about accepting christ in my life. i felt uncomfortable! |
BUT back to the subject.

if we only have a "book/bible" to go by. then should we believe it? How do we know if its real. WHY are there so many different versions of the bible?
What about all the evidence found contridicting the bible.

Well, first I think you're concluding that only the Bible can be the only true religious book. There are many other opinions on the matter, so who's to say that the Abrahamic (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim) god is the actual god? Why not Shiva? Religion is a leap of faith, nothing more. That isn't to say I'm an atheist or agnostic, because I'm not.

again, to think that a book what has been on this planet for milennia hasn't been altered by those with the opportunity to do so is borderline retarded, to believe that all those who lead whatever faith you believe are doing it because they were called by god to is crossing that line, and to believe that only the members of one demonination or another are going to 'heaven' is completely fucking insane
it is highly disturbing how many will sufer for their faith or so called faith for their beliefs or the pretense of belief, again religous fanatics make me sick, and need to check their own agendas before attempting to preach, or tell anyone else what they are doing wrong

Absolutely. Just take a look into the face of a new born baby, the magnificent beauty of the ocean and the list goes on and on of things that only God can create. Man has limitations...I see evidence that He truly exists when I see the Sun come up in the morning, go down in the evening and with every breath I breathe. Man only thinks he is in control of this world, but I know the God who is truly in control. Oh, and by the way, yes, angels exist. That's another of His beautiful creations. Which versions are you referring to?  There are some different version and languages is usually the answer.  There is also the issue of Canon, which have various explanations.

What evidence do you have that contradicts anything in the Bible(and which Bible)?

 

WHY do we believe what people tell us.

 

I don't know why you do.  I find some people to be credible sources for specific information.  Other times I find more sources to verify data.

I DONT believe because I believe i was pushed into this lifestyle. I lived it for 15yrs then i believed i was old enough to believe in whatever i pleased.
