Is it possible to fall in love with someone you've never met?

My cousin and I were having this discussion last night... Because she truly believes she is in love with a guy she has never met. They met online, and have been talking for a couple months now. He even says he is in love with her as well. My question is....is it really possible to be in love with someone you have never met? ....

my opinion, I don't think so...I think you can be in love with the idea of the person, talking over the phone is different from actually spending time in person with someone. What you feel for them over the phone could be different from how you would feel with them in person.

What do you think?

Shucks Triple D. I guess I don't believe it either.
If love at first sight is possible then may be....
If everyone who came online was honest about who they were then yeah...it would be possible to fall inlove with someone you've never mett in person. however we all know thats not the case...so youre right, its falling inlove with the idea of the person.
I agree.

I don't think it's possible, because you can connect with someone an insane amount through text, but then when you meet in person the vibe might just be weird or it might be awkward. You're not only made up of what you say and think. Someone you can talk to for hours online might bug the shit out of you in person, you just never know. I wouldn't completely discount starting a relationship with someone you met online, but I think people who have online relationships are pretty retarded. Or their "relationship" is at least. I wouldn't say I'm going out with someone if I didn't at least get to suck face once a week with them or something.

Fall in love? I'm not sure. But my guess is no. And I don't think it's all due to the lack of honesty of either part, it is also the fact that you don't know how they look like in person, how they smell and silly stuff like that... and even if they were honest, I guess it might just be a connection due to similar viewpoints about stuff.

I endured an 'online friendship' for six years, and one gets used to some aspects of the person, or the personality they have decided to be online, weird thing my friendship went down the drain because of a bus driver.... okay I'm not making any sense now... well anyways, this friendship was fun but I never felt 'love'.

Love? No.

Infatuation? Yes.

Yes,someone can fall in love with somebody he or she has not seen before.sometimes it depends on the approach he or she has receive from the person, how he or she speak's if has been hearing the voice of each other. And how he or she also cares for each other. IT IS POSIBLE
that is 100% possible,imaging the possibility.lol.!!!!!!!!!!!
CANNOT LOVE WHAT YOU DONT KNOW. LUST MAYBE. EXAMPLE/ I SEE YOUR PICS, I SAY I LOVE YOU. THATS BECAUSE, IM THINKING WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO MOUNT YOU. ON THE OTHER HAND, IF I KNEW YOU AND YOUR RACK WAS HANGING TO YOUR KNEES, I COULDNT LOVE YOU. NOBODY WOULD. MAYBE A REPTILE. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH

Somebody give me a definition of "Falling in love."
