You were pretty lucky to be an Admin here, such a huge site. Probably the only one with a brain... or at least one of the very few. It's too bad the other mods weren't more like you... the place would still prolly exist in an older earlier form.

thanks for saying that. i don't know how true the last part is but i do feel lucky that i was a mod here through all the civil wars or whatever restarter's calling them. even my bad fake account was a mod under the reign of jer.

to be fair to jer, he did care about bolt. he just cared about it in a weird rapey "if i can't have you no one will" kind of way.

The pot calling the kettle black; you aren't in any position to criticize Rob's intentions or "professionalism" when your little temper tantrum resulted in the death-spiral of this website. The only thing you can objectively criticize Bolt Restarter for is employing YOU and foolishly giving YOU any form of power on this site. Whining about Restarter wanting to make a profit, which the previous Bolt did through various banners and pop-up adds, is not only an affront to reality but childish.

If you didn't like the way Restarter administrated the site, you needed to do the honorable thing, and just hand over the site to someone else. Wrecking it, so barely anyone else can use it, then walking away and criticizing Restarter for not cleaning up your mess fast enough is pretty cowardly.

But, since you probably can't see past your own delicate ego, it is impossible for you to comprehend this message. I am going to predict your response back to me is going to be a long-winded rant containing personal insults.

Not knowing the actual full history of this place, but I have seen enough over 3 years, and been told enough from before that, by long time members to understand the jest of it. Pointing fingers and accusations won't solve a damn thing, politicians do that all the time... see where that gets us. I'm pretty damned sure each one has their valid points and their own story, and you can't walk the mile in their shoes to understand it. What I see here is purely personal, conflicts, which is also why this site fell apart. Why beat a dead horse.... either fix it, or let it go.

Jer was absolutely correct in "Bolt needs former MEMBERS running it from a grassroots level. It needs people maintaining it who truly care about it. People who aren't in it for the money, profit, recognition, or fame. People with selfless, pure intentions. People who have been a part of Bolt since its glory days. The site needs to be BY the members and FOR the members." Every successful site out there needs direction and hands on by its creator for the reasons it was set out to do. After that its like minded people who will help out freely and contribute time towards the common goal... WORKING TOGETHER, not against each other. If there are cat fights its up to the creator to settle that or simply get rid of the resistance.

He's also correct in ads will not support a site any longer these days. Any site I see ads on I totally ignore them or stop frequenting the place. Ad blockers are the cats meow.

So what did you exactly achieve by removing all the mods, deleting your profile and making the site practically so inaccessible to it's users that it destroyed the community? It sure as hell didn't benefit anyone but your most base narcissistic impulses. No one wants to read your paragraphs upon paragraphs of verbal diarrhea about how Restarter did this or didn't do that, and this somehow makes you exempt from any responsibility. The fact is, this site is largely where it is now thanks to you, Jer.

At least Restarter made this site and cleaned it up each time one of you FUBARed. And, at least Restarter has the balls to warn people ahead of time that he is going to remove the site too.

You are an egomaniac, Jer. Egotism isn't defined by one who doesn't see no wrongs in themselves, but instead someone who thinks only of themselves and lacks empathy of others. What you did to Bolt is a perfect example of egotism; you decimated the site because someone wasn't paying enough attention to you and you placed very little thought into how it would affect the community. The only thing you wanted to prove was your power over others, and punish those who didn't recognize your efforts on this site. Additionally, even when you were supposedly "busy" fixing the site, most of the features you added only served your own self-interests. Furthermore, all your attacks on me and others in this discussion are really your own projections of yourself; self-righteousness, shortsightedness, narcissistic, greedy, lazy, apathetic asshole, and a warped perspective all define you very well, Jer. The fact is, you don't see people as themselves, but instead, you see people through yourself...the true hallmark of someone with an ego and projects their negative character traits upon others.

Why would I relish in provoking an emotional reaction out of you, Jer? First, it has always been more of a challenge NOT to provoke your emotions in any form of discussion. Secondly, it is almost impossible to have any kind of constructive discussion if the other person allows their emotions to trump their ability to reason. Thirdly, there is nothing I gain from manipulating you here...it won't change the course of this site or correct the injustices you did. And while you may think there is some kind of personal feud between us, but the truth is, I have never seen you as my equal...no offense. Me replying to you has nothing to do with me playing hero or any of the poorly fabricated reasons you listed. I am replying to you, Jer, because: A) I want answers, and B) your hypocrisy is unbearable. If you had written out an apology for your actions and shown remorse, I wouldn't have a reason to ever reply back. The wrongful actions taken upon this site could have been done under another name and my reaction would be no different, Jer. So this has nothing to do with you and I as people, but instead solely your actions.

Oh, I have humbled myself over my flaws quite a bit, Jer...if you recall, I apologized to you personally through a note when I started editing the site without your permission. Happy?

As for Restarter; you're right, he did nothing but pay the bills...and I was perfectly okay with that. I didn't need Restarter's consent to form the Bolt magazine thing, I didn't need his permission to update the logo, I never begged for him to allow me to create various banners, nor did I seek his approval each time I changed the site's color scheme to fit a certain holiday or event. The only thing Restarter had to do was buy the canvas for us to paint on and we were left in charge...which was the easy part! I never cared if Restarter planned to make millions from this site. I didn't concern myself with what Restarter does in his free time, what he tweets, places he goes and the amount of money he makes. None of this mattered to me because his job was already completed and I never craved for his interference. Naturally, this is far beyond your ability to understand. When Restarter handed you and many other mods the keys to the kingdom, he was hoping you could be an adult and run the site without him having to baby you. And what did you do instead? You squandered that opportunity to turn one of the largest Ning communities into your own personal hissy-fit contest. Some of you people show no appreciation when a privilege has been provided to you.

Umm, Jer, what you did makes as much sense as an arsonist burning down an orphanage and blaming the fire department for not stopping him. You disabled chat, removed all the mods so they couldn't change the site, made the site so impossible to navigate that I had to make a forum that linked people to specific sections, warn members what happened since you were too cowardly to say it yourself and you removed all the colors/images. But no big deal, right? Wow, you're such a big man, Jer! And what would have happened IF you didn't do that? Oh right, the site would probably still be up! Thanks again, Jer! This is really Restarter's fault because he didn't stop you in time. I totally see your point.

Rian is right Jer , your latest version of events are slightly different from what remember, you made a lot if unnecessary changes around here just for the sake of doing things your way, locking up bolt and further alienating the few remaining bolt members we had, i think you relished in the fact that would when you left in a huff, once you realized that bolt wasn't going to give you the self gratification you craved and desired, i would be surprised if you begged that rob guy for job after that first ruckus jer, he seem to be the man then once he gave you the job, wasn't he..now this is all his fault, you knew he's never maintained bolt himself,as long as he paid for all of this seem to be just fine with everyone else though..i new you were going to do that, you say your all for bolt but you come and go after long periods of time but when do show up, all you do most of the time is say how great old bolt was and how shitty this one is. you srike me as someone thats speands most of there time in the past

ya jer thats what must of did it, your always right, bolt only got shut down twice, once in the first few months it opened and during that other big mess, and that wasn't any of my doing, and as far as complaints go, i've only received the odd warning by stan at best, it funny how you returned to scene of the crime once you saw the closing notice, you no you're lucky if chill hadn't step up to the plate and undo your mess, you'd still been locked out of this place..maybe he should of just left it. its like you to brand everybody a dissident and undesirable that doesn't go along with also, isn't it jer

i might put the orange swirls background and the old header back up soon so bolt can die in style. i think restarter put this dots background up himself so i didn't want to change it in case he likes the way it looks now. i'm not really sure if i'm still meant to be a mod, so i've just been trying to quietly keep an eye on the place. i didn't want to make any bad moves as the weird secret accidental mod.

when one of the bolt3 problems happened i think it was some kind of ning exploit or something. one of the mods got their account taken over but that account got banned before anything else could happen. i don't know how bolt got broken that time but the mods didn't break bolt. none of us could get into our accounts to fix anything. when i got my account back i was still a mod because of the weird glitch.

i think there was only one time you could say there was a civil war here. that was the first time jer was a mod and he started deleting everything. bolt was fine after that until the mods lost their accounts. jer did his party trick again because restarter made him a mod again. it took too long for anything to get fixed after that and i think that's what killed bolt this time.

bolt's still here but it's dead. i don't blame them for ending it.
