With Halloween around the distant corner, I thought it wouldn't be a terrible thing to discuss music that has a scary vibe. Besides, the forums are constipated.
It doesn't have to be anything like the Monster Mash, just a tune or sound which generates a noticeably disturbing demeanor or what you'd hear in a B-movie horror flick.

When it comes to Halloween themes or sounds with disturbing/unsettling vibes, nothing does it for me quite like John Carpenter's music in the original Halloween (released in 1978).

I think the soundtrack to Quake is a real classic but probably not as well known as the score from Halloween.

Just listen to that. There is this ear piercing concentration and tension at the very start of the score which has always made me feel unnerved. Very atmospheric, and generally intensified the setting of the game.

Not a song or tune, but a mysterious recording that was believed to have come out of the Soviet Union in the early 60s. During the Space Race between the two superpowers, it was believed that an untold number of cosmonauts were lost and their deaths were kept hidden by the USSR. The recording placed here is possibly one of those; the final words of an unknown female cosmonaut before she suddenly realized that her rocket was going to be incinerated into the atmosphere.

There is a certain terror about not only violently dying alone but dying in the cold vacuum of space inside a cramped space capsule. Nor do you have to understand Russian in order to detect how terrified and desperate her tone is but this is the translation below.

For me it would have to be Tubular Bells - the theme from The Exorcist

A nice monologue inspired by H. P. Lovecraft.

In a very slight way, it reminds me of Silent Hill.

This remix is haunting and creepy yet beautiful:

i can thrill you more than any ghost would ever dare try

p.s monster mash/buffy theme
