Do you think it's approriate to allow a child to have a television in their bedroom?

It's fine provided you control which content the can access and limit their time watching it (this is of course dependent on the age of said child.)

I agree that the age of the child should be a factor in this decision. Age 4 is surly not approriate in my opinion.

I guess it's up to the parrent. Kids are going to watch the T.V. sometime in their life... no mater how much you try to sensor them from it.

not until the kid is at least 13 and even then probably not unless u know how to set the locks on what the kid can and cannot watch

i think its ok if they earn it. and of course if they are being brats after they get it you take it from them. they need to remember though that there is a huge world outside. if i let my kids have a tv later in life, they will be allowed 1 movie a day, or 2 hour long shows (but not back to back) because i wont have my kids be couch potatos. personally 1 hour of tv games allowed, unless its like vsmile or something that teaches you stuff. thats what i got for my son now.

yeah tv is a normal thing to have. they have a right to watch and own a tv. its wrong not to let them
