I have a farther but not a dad. A dad wouldn't draink, abouse his wife and kids. My dadi s dead to me and he will always will be.

Right. Well, the main reason that I would think my father is a loser is for staying with my mother. If he had anything that resembles self-respect, he would realize that she is too shallow and narcissistic to love anyone (except the dog) and will never see him as anything other than a paycheck. But as long as he chooses to deny reality, I don't think that he will never be able to enjoy sustained recovery from his alcoholism.

I'm blessed to still have my father,he's 85,been through WW11'was a hard worker'and still had time to spend with 3kids. Sure he made his mistakes but who hasn't. To all of you who didn't have a father because of their addictions pray for them,it might make you feel better.

My ACTUAL dad was a bit of a prick - I haven't seen him since I was 7, he lives in Italy now I think.
But I have a fake dad, who's pretty much a stepdad, but I call him dad now anyway. He's a sexy dad and a vast improvement.
