And if so, are you happy with the choice so far?

Ha! I know! When the lead Republican candidate wasn't as good as BUSH - 9 years ago?! How could they ever expect to be elected?

Like you say, she was a woman, thus why she was McCain's running mate - No experience at all..She was Governor of Alaska, which isn't an achievement - it's like being voted the most attractive person in a burns unit.
I voted for Obama, and we will see you won't really know how his policies are for at least another year or two, it takes awhile so the jury is still out. I think a lot of the time we give the president too much credit whether good or bad, the only real decision he makes is who to put around him who make the day to day choices and even then you have all the other elected officials that have nothing to do with the president
Yes and, yes to an extent. He's much better and less shameful than parading Bush in front of foreign leaders, but he really has yet to accomplish anything and doesn't seem to be gaining ground on any of his promises.
I voted McCain, but I still don't think he would be the best right now. Now isn't a good time, and there are a lot of difficult things going on. However, Obama's new policies really aren't helping.
I am happy with what he is doing. He is trying to help people which is way more then what bush ever did.
And if he tryed to, or set the plans for the future, to change the U.S. into a socialist country, I would be for it.
No. He is a failure. I mean, look at what kind of reform he is pushing.
Yes I voted Obama, because he appeared to be a level headed decision maker, and possess great leader capabilities.
When your already 3/4 your way to hell in a handbasket, you can't really ask for more than that.
I had no expectations of any sudden "save us all" miracles. Only Harry Potter can perform that kind of magic.

Expecto (moderate) deflation!

...Sorry, I just re-read the Deathly Hallows, and I'm a little anxious for the movie.
No I didn't vote for obama and I don't vote because the policy is going to be the same regardless, it is handed down to them by our evil reptilian overlords.
HELL NO.....I'm totally against obama and his house full of crazies. I'll keep my money, my guns, and my freedom, you keep the change.
I think Americans think like this in general. We're very individualistic until the "BIG" disasters occur. Then we run to the rescue not realizing/caring that a lot of preventative measures can be taken ahead of time so that these "BIG" things aren't happening on such a wide scale, aren't AS bad,or aren't happening at all.

Examples: 9/11, healthcare reform, hurricane Katrina, credit card debt...etc., etc., etc.
A lot of people complain about these presidents (the situations they put us in, what they're not doing correctly), but not many people could be doing better right now.

I'm not saying that these aren't valid argument/concerns/complaints. And these politicians are supposedly "qualified"....okay let's omit that....but seriously let's give some of them a break. They're not infallible.

And drawing a correlation between Bush's terrorism escapades into Iraq/Afganistan and Obama and the job/economy/health care situation...in my opinion that's just kind of...gay. That's like comparing the person who shit on your step to the person who cleans the shit off the step.

If someone walked into your job and told you everything you were doing wrong, why it's wrong, and how much fail you are...well you get the picture, right?
