I am not asking an end to war, illness and etc. because all of these are the necessary checks and balances we need to make life bitter in order to taste what is sweet.
Instead, what I desire to change, is how finite life on Earth is. It pains me to know that billions of years of life on our blue planet will eventually end at the blink of an eye. Whether it comes in the form of a life-ending asteroid, a radioactive gamma ray burst, our sun exploding or the universe collapsing in I just think it would be the worst universal tragedy. Such priceless beauty being built up to a point where it is completely wasted.
Permalink Reply by Beaker on November 4, 2013 at 3:33pm It's not really wasted, in the end just changed dramatically. Nobody really knows the history of, or how truly old the universe actually is or what it's been thru, yet here we are. We cannot know what new things will develop and what things will fade away. Of course there are piles of theories and speculations, but even those change daily.
Permalink Reply by Dahlia on October 5, 2012 at 11:08am I just wish if I could educate every human being enough so that he hangs on to his humanity atleast. Yeah I know goodness & evil both will exist but I think we can manage with bad people but I don't want unhuman people on earth.
Permalink Reply by Alan Wisbey on October 9, 2012 at 11:38pm Well, you need not worry about the universe collapsing, at least! That isn't going to happen, as far as we know. Interesting point, though. Yeah, planets die - stars die, even galaxies must decay into nothing. Even the Universe as a whole, dies one day, just like a man. So I suppose the Earth, beautiful as life may be, is but a small part in all that. I guess for a while we can take comfort in the fact that life like this will exist on planets we'll never know about, around stars which have yet to form, somewhere. For a fact, we know that much at least. Eventually it will all end though, in this universe at least.
Permalink Reply by Number 6 on October 14, 2012 at 1:35am I would BAN public schooling and instead give each child at birth a generous bond which they would be able to cash at any Liberal Education or Alternative schooling institution of their choice.
It's all in what we're telling our kids to do with their time, which determines what they do in the world, which determines how much it sucks dick. And when you have children being told to sit down, shut up, for 40 hours a week under fluorescent lighting for 18 years, we shouldn't be shocked when it sucks COMPLETE DICK.
Permalink Reply by Number 6 on October 14, 2012 at 1:37am Sorry, but how is that a comfort? lol What exactly is it meant to sooth? It's fascinating and all, but I don't think it lays any of my anxieties to rest.

Not sure what the point of changing the world would be. Anything any of us idiots did would only make things worse.
I may not mind having some superpowers though.
