Hi All,

So some of the admins went a little haywire and one in particular did some serious damage to years of good work on Bolt. As a result, certain features are now gone and certainly, the site got a facelift. Please use this forum to alert me to things that you are missing and I will see what I can fix.

In the meantime I want to do two things: 1. Thank all the admins who worked tirelessly for years to build this site. The work of a small group should not taint their great efforts to rebuild a once strong community. Thank you! 2. Sadly, as a result of the most recent turn of events, I think it is time for Bolt to be restarted once again. I can make no promises at the moment about what will be coming, but I think a facelift and a new personality are probably in order. I have a small team looking at options now and I expect a proposal by the end of the week.

In the meantime, keep calm - carry on. And let me know if there are little things here and there that can help make repairs.

I think the 'swear filter' is there by default. It can be adjusted to their needs. Anyhow, IDK what the necessity is for swearing... j/s.
Also, I think this might be what bolt needed, a new start. The previous one left quite a lot to be desired.
I hope the people responsible can be tracked down and dealt with, there is too much people can get away with online, free for all wrong attitudes. "It's just the internet". Well, there are other real people out here, we shouldn't have to put up with elementary school bullies here too.

If Ning had never alerted you, the images would still be plastered all over this site for another month. The fact is, oppertunity was squandered. There was a anything goes policy with the moderators and it isn't shocking this is what it regressed to.

Why restart anything if you, the administrator, cannot find the time to administrate the site?

I think there should be a set of polices put in place for the administrators. That way they have something to reference when decisions are made, or for issues that arise. As well as a code of conduct for everyone to follow.

While I've not been much of an active person myself for a while I hope that Bolt can become what it once was.

So it looks like anyone who's account was deleted, will suffer a permanent delete sadly. I'm still working on options, but pretty sure what is gone is gone.

Thanks for the comments - I've updated the swear filter so hopefully it is slightly less restrictive.

Still working on if I can come up with a sustainable way to keep this site moderated without having to pay a fortune to hire folks to do the work. If I can figure that part out, we'll put some cash into doing a clean start.

Start a donations blog, with a Paypal donate button. Write something decent and sincere, with future intentions, that will attract people. 5 bucks a pop by several people goes a long ways.
