Nagi, would the site have to be named as "Bolt" for the majority to accept it as their community or would any name be ok? Meow, Isaah your input is welcome too. The reason for the question is I've been following this thread since it started and have been doing some research into a social networking site with forums and chat, but I don't know what kind of legalities I'd be looking at to use the Bolt name. I too have found memories of the old bolt 2001-2004ish (didn't bolt 2 come out late 2004?) etc. I've even considered attaching a Bolt group to my facebook to get keep everyone in touch temporarily until a permanent solution can be made possible. Truth is we all know it as Bolt and have some memories attached to it. I would say keeping Bolt would be the best option since a lot of us know it.

Truth is that some might think we stole the name from Disney which is not true considering that Bolt, the Movie didn't exist until later.

Bolt 2 came out in early 2004 and lasted until 2006, Bolt disappeared, then reappeared, its been a few years...i came and went since then as either Nagi, Samkin or Rip. it was different set up and also we did have moderators that actually would ask how people are.

Using the Bolt Name is just a way to attract and keep the same group of people around. Legally they can't stop you having Bolt up in the heading, but to register the url you just need to use some variation bolt. Much the same as restarter has done with bolt.again which turned into this bolt3. Ning will always let you know what's available and what you can or can't do.
Ideally if Restarter cared about the Bolt community as he claims. He would just sign the site over to me, or you, or someone else who is willing to foot the bill. I've made the offer before with no reply. I've even checked to see if anything else was going on behind the scenes. But no, it looks like he's happier to let it die.
The contact idea can't hurt for those willing, but I don't know how many would participate at this point in time. Most of us who are friends talk on IM or other places. But like I said, it can't hurt.
On a side note, for a social website to be successful it needs to let everyone and anyone join. Even if you don't like them, without the difference in personality's, opinions, interests and even controversy it would be boring as fuck.
