How can anyone on Earth know for sure? Have we explored every single planet and galaxy to find that there is no other life form? Why does Earth have to be the only planet with life? No one can say for sure that there is or is not life forms anywhere else besides here.

Well, the universe is extremely large and constantly expanding. Assuming that life on Earth isn't a fundamentally unique occurrence (i.e. that it could have happened under similar circumstances somewhere else), there are enough habitable planets in the observable universe that it's quite likely that somewhere out there there are other life forms.

The only nuisance about that is, if they're anything even remotely like us, the likelihood of their being able to travel as far from their planet as Earth is pretty much 0. So even if extra-terrestrial life forms do exist (and I'd say it does) elsewhere in the universe, we'll probably never get to meet one.

Even if we could travel near or at the speed of light it would take generations (we're talking more than a hundred years) to reach the nearest inhabitable star system. Maybe there is some incredible technological advance on the distant horizon that will allow us to go travelling through space quickly enough to get from here to there in a manageable amount of time. For now, I'd be satisfied to see a manned mission to Mars.

For a human to travel at the speed of light is impossible our bodies would vaporize in an instant. However if you draw two dots on both ends of a peice of paper and then fold the paper so that those two dots meet this is the quickest possible way to travel aka a "black hole".
