what are your thoughts on the saying "its better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all"

i think this saying is completely wrong at least if you havent really been in love with someone then you cant feel the pain of a broken heart when they leave you or dont love you the way you loved them i know its human nature to want love but longing for love is no where near as painful as experiencing love then to have it rip a way from you

i totally agree, i just broke up with my wife of 5 years and i can tell u i would rather have never met her than have fallen in love with her soo much and lost her. but what can you do? you cant avoid every chance at love for fear of loosing it.
Broken hearts heal, and leave manly scars and hair on your chest. It comes good again after about a year or two.
Love and pain come together in the package. I haven't met yet a person who's been deeply in love and not experienced the unbearable pain of a broken heart.
Some say forever.
